This 1928 Ford 5-AT-B, registered as N9667, is a historically significant aircraft presented for static museum display purposes only and is not airworthy. With a total time of just 1 hour on both the airframe and its three engines, this Tri-Motor made its first flight on December 14, 1928, and was the first airplane delivered to Southwest Air Fast Express (SAFEway), later a predecessor to American Airlines. Following service with TACA Airlines, the aircraft disappeared in a Central American jungle in the late 1930s; its wreckage was recovered in 1975 and has since been meticulously restored over a ten-year period.
