This is a rare opportunity to acquire a Republic P-47D Thunderbolt, a genuine early-series “Razorback” variant that served in the Pacific Theatre. One of just three flyable Razorbacks in existence today, this aircraft was force-landed largely undamaged into swampy ground in New Guinea in October 1943, then recovered in the mid-1960s and shipped to New Zealand, where it was later traded to Australia. It is now well along in restoration, requiring substantial metal replacement to address corrosion from its time in the swamp.
