This 1971 SIAI MARCHETTI SF260, registration I-CEMX, is a unique piston single with a total time of 487 hours on both its airframe and its 256 HP Lycoming O-540-E4A5 engine. The aircraft has been in storage, hangared, since its last flight in March 1996, which concluded with a belly landing and propeller strike. Following that incident, a shock load inspection was completed in March 2003, which included overhauling the magnetos and carburetor and replacing the oil pump. The two-blade Hartzell aluminum propeller was overhauled in October 2002 and later inspected after its long storage in March 2005.
