This 1955 Lockheed L-1049 Super Constellation, registered as HB-RSC (serial number 4175), is a historically significant turboprop aircraft with a storied service history. Originally entering service with the U.S. Military Air Transport Service in November 1955, it later served with the Air National Guard from 1962 onward before transitioning through multiple operators. The aircraft was acquired by Switzerland's Super Constellation Flying Association in 2003 and operated as the "Star of Switzerland" in Breitling livery, performing at airshows and special events until its last flight in October 2016. Currently stored professionally in Germany, the aircraft has been disassembled for worldwide transportation. While the airframe and Engine 1 show 0 total time, the airframe's extensive operational history is well-documented, including its military service and subsequent civilian show career. The engine's TBO is listed at 20,000 hours. This rare Constellation represents a unique opportunity for preservation or restoration given its iconic status in aviation history.
