This 1952 de Havilland DHC-1 Super Chipmunk, registered as G-BCKN, is a rare and uniquely restored example with a notable history of service with the Royal Air Force Gliding & Soaring Association from 1974 to 2017. Following a subsequent period with the Coventry Gliding Club, the aircraft underwent a comprehensive restoration by the renowned specialists Clive & Andrew Denney of Vintage Fabrics, who have restored over 30 Chipmunks. The restoration included a zero-time Lycoming 180hp engine by Multiflight, and the airframe has accrued only 140 hours since the work was completed.
