This 1941 Fairchild 24W, registered as N66143, is a beautifully restored example with a unique and well-documented military history. Originally built for the Army Air Corps with a 165 hp Warner Scarab engine, it was destined for the Royal Air Force under lend-lease as an Argus I before Pearl Harbor led the Air Corps to retain it. It served as a UC-61 utility aircraft in the Caribbean and South America during World War II before being sold as surplus and eventually becoming derelict in 1968 with just 1,342 flight hours.
