This 1933 WACO UIC, offered at $80,000 and located in Torrance, California, is described by the seller as the only surviving Shell Oil Waco, originally purchased by Shell Oil in 1933 and carrying Jimmy Doolittle piloting history. The seller acquired the aircraft seven years ago and performed some restoration work, including a fuselage repair completed by Dave Wenglarz in which the longerons and all questionable tubing were replaced.
The listing notes that the aircraft comes with great history, all paperwork, log books, and an airworthiness certificate. The landing oleos were rebuilt by John Nace, and two brand new dish pans are included....
